Environment Friendly

Silca System and Merx Pacific are dedicated to doing their part to ‘Go Green’

Common hardwood decking used in New Zealand and Australia including, kwila, teak, and vitex are directly sourced from the deforestation of Papua New Guinea and Amazon Rainforests . Unlike more sustainable radiata pine used for structural building timbers, these hardwoods are from old established rainforest, take generations to grow and provide an abundant habitat for creatures large and small. To cut that down so one can put it on their deck seems absolutely barbaric in this day and age when we know the consequences!
It is time to change our thinking around what a “deck” or outdoor living area consists of. Silca System provides a new green option with a low maintenance, low environmental impact patio/deck produced from 100% recycled materials and we even plant trees too! Silca System uses 100% recycled polycarbonate in the production of its Silca System line of products. Merx Pacific and Silca System are committed to their continued effort of being environmentally friendly and using only recycled materials for their products.
