The next stage in this installation series. Tiles!!
Tiles are spot glue fixed direct to the Silca Grates with gaps around each tile for drainage.
Compliant as permeable surface with level entry through threshold E2/AS1.
Our specified polymer based adhesive is amazing, works perfectly with the plastic of the grates and any tile or paver.
Glue dobbs are applied on the connectors, around the screw head areas provides a good key for the adhesive, and a bead can be run where one Grate butts up to the next.
Yes, you can even apply adhesive to the top of the cell wall on the grates and it stays stuck! Such a strong yet flexible, easy to use adhesive.

Next stage of the installation, Silca Grates in.
X6 screws per grate ( 10g x 75mm 304SS CS supplied with order )
Fix through the predesignated countersunk holes along the edge and corners of each grate. This guides the screw into the correct position in the joist with minimal effort.
Silca Grates are simple to cut using battery circular saw or reciprocating saw. Once cut, they retain structural integrity for notching around downpipes, posts or vents.
For multiple straight cuts a table saw can be used.
The Grates are designed to have multiple screw point options, and are symmetrical so if you cut down the centre, the other half can still be used.
