Substructure & Fixing Requirements

  • Timber Base Setup: Mount over a maximum of 400mm joist centers. Secure using 6x 10g x 75mm SS304 countersunk wood screws per grate.
  • Aluminium Frame Setup: Secure using 6x 10g x 60mm SS410 self-drilling WingTek screws per grate.
  • Pedestal Systems: Compatible with Buzon DPH series adjustable pedestals (8 bases per m² typical layout). Mechanically lock corners using 4x 10g x 75mm SS304 countersunk screws per grate.
  • Interlocking Connection: Mechanically lock all 4 sides with Silca Lock Connectors driven into designated side slots (2 keys per side, averaging 3.3 per grate).
  • Surface Tile Bonding: Spot-adhere tiles/pavers (14mm to 60mm thick) using SabreBond SMP45 high-flex polymer adhesive. Achieves an engineered calculated wind uplift resistance of 119.49 kN/m².
  • Drainage Compliance: To satisfy level-entry site coverage under E2/AS1, maintain an unobstructed 5mm boundary drainage gap around all tile borders.
